Carpet Cleaning FAQ's

Let's Deep Dive Into The Top 6 Most Frequently Asked Questions About Carpet Cleaning...

01

How often should carpets be cleaned?

The recommended frequency depends on a few factors like foot traffic, usage (pets, kids, spills) and carpet age.

Typically most manufacturers will recommend once every 12 months for low-usage areas, every 6 months for medium-usage areas and 3 months for high usage areas.

02

Is carpet cleaning safe for both my carpets and my family?

The Hot Water Extraction (HWE) method of cleaning carpets (the method we use) was designed to be both a highly effective yet very delicate method to keeping carpets bright, fresh and healthy.

We source only the most effective, safe and eco-friendly solutions internationally at an expense to ensure your carpets look amazing and you also have full peace of mind regarding safety and wellbeing.

03

Can you really get out stains like wine, rust, permanent marker and food colouring?

When a stain occurs within carpet fibres, chemistry takes place to cause the stain to set in.

As industry leading carpet technicians, if we can identify what the stain is and how long it's been there, we can apply the right chemical reactions to suspend and then remove the stain.

04

Should I DIY steam clean or hire a professional?

The problem with off-the-shelf products and hired machines, is that they often cause more damage than they fix. The products a lot of the time are very potent and damage the carpets stain resistant coatings, and the machines aren't high enough quality to remove all the product.

This leaves you with carpets susceptible to staining that could permanently settle into fibres, as well as leftover product in the carpet acting like sticky glue causing the area to build up much quicker than before.

05

How long after carpets are cleaned can you walk on them again?

Unlike other companies, at Bright-N-Shine we always aim to have the carpets dry before we leave.

When we finish a room, we set up high-powered air movers to dry the carpet double time. This usually allows us to have all carpets dry by the time we finish the house.

They're typically ready to walk on either immediately or within an hour or two.

06

Why is it important to get my carpets professionally cleaned regularly?

We all know how quickly our hair builds up and how often we need to wash it. The carpets in our homes act like hair that we step on, consistently tracking everything from sand and dirt to grease and bacteria from the street inside to build up in our home.

Over months and months of constantly tracking the outside world in, the state of our carpets can quickly fall to levels of low hygiene, poor colour and build up causing staining.
